It doesn't do anything to the cervix. However, some women report that is does thin out their cervical fluid. So, for women whose cervical fluid is thick and doesn't seem to attain that "egg white" quality, Guifanesin(sp) can possibly help. Please note that while it may THIN the fluid, thereby effecting the quality of the fluid, it will NOT increase the fluid or otherwise effect quanity (although thinner fluid may appear to be more abundant).

Anything that is "just" Guaifenesin(sp) will do -- plain Robotussin is what women usually take. Be sure, however, to avoid other varieties, such as those with decongestants, which will dry you up.

There's a pretty decent FAQ on this at http://www.tcoyf.com (it's a topic that comes up pretty frequently among the TTC population).

Good luck.

Guaifenesin thins out all the mucus in your body not just in the chest. So if you don't have alot of egg-white cervical mucus you can try taking Robitussin or mucinex but it cant be the ones that have DM after the name. Guaifenesin should be the only active ingredient

I have heard about this It thins the cervical mucus making it easier for the sperm to swim to the egg. I have always heard to buy Mucinex..which is not a syrup but actually a tablet. It had the most Guaifenesin in it. Don't buy the Mucinex DM though because the other drug in it can cause birth defects,

Yes Robitussin helps if you start taking it a week away from when you expect to ovulate. it helps by thinning the mucus and making it easier for sperm to penetrate. Make sure you buy the plain Robitussin. Anything with letters after it is the wrong one and could dry you up. Hope this helps.

You should start by not wanting to get pregnant, just have sex everyday or every other day and don't think about getting pregnant, just have fun with your partner. Get more useful information and guides to get pregnant here https://tr.im/5qUwG
after sex-put a pillow under your butt or prop your feet up on the wall so your pelvis is tilted
eat healthy
back off caffiene
workout, even if its just a 20 minute walk a day, be active.

You are supposed to used the plain Robitussin. You can read about it on www.fertillityfriend.com, or just Google Robitussin and Cervical Mucus. It helps to thin the cervical mucus so that it is easier for the sperm to get through.

Yes. It thins out your cervical mucus, which allows the sperm to live and reach their target, the egg. Either Robitussin works, or you can take Mucinex which has the same ingredient only in pill form.
