Integrity can only serve a limited role as a constraint on compromise. This is because integrity is itself constrianed by two inherent tensions: the tension between its internal and external aspects, and the tension between the dimensions of wholeness and consistency.

This is a hideously unclear sentence to begin with, I should note (and I teach Philosophy in a university!)

Tensions between the internal/external aspects of integrity and it's dimensions of wholeness and consistency limit it's role as a constraint on compromise.

or

Tensions between integrity’s internal/external aspects and it's dimensions of wholeness and consistency limit it's role as a constraint on compromise.

or

Tensions between integrity’s internal/external aspects and it's dimensions of wholeness and consistency limit the role of integrity to a constraint on compromise.

that's how I would write it, but I'm not 100% sure what youre trying to say so it might not be correct. mix and match!

If youre trying to say between: 1) internal and external 2) dimensions of wholeness and consistency
i would just leave it as is but maybe add a "it's" between "of and wholeness" so it's a little more clearly seperated from the other comparison... so I'd write something like "dimensions of it's wholeness and consistency..." idk

Anxiety is caused by the conflict between what a person believes personally and what society tells him he should believe. Anxiety is further caused to the person because he or she is not able to find an acceptable compromise of the issue causing the anxiety.
