Flash player 9 does not seem to download to my computer it says it has and when you check add/remove programs you see the flash player program but no bite size

I had the same problem.
Run the uninstall from Add\Remove
Go to Adobe web site under their support section there is an Flash uninstaller - close IE\FireFox and run the uninstall program
Go to Adobe's web site and run the Flash install from their site.

mine does not show byte size iether but it works ok, you should uninstall from add/remove, reboot and reinstall from the adobe website
