I have been everywhere in the dungeon on Zelda , but cannot find out how to progress. I get to the parts where it is very windy and the bridges are spinning and cannot get any farther. or I get to the room that has the column in the center that wobbles when you run into it, but cannot get it to fall over. I have freed the third monkey, but doesn't seem to make much of a difference. Also, how do I get the wooden gates to open that are blocking one of the doors. I see a bunch of the towers that are wind powered outside of the gate, but don't know how to get them to spin. Help? I have been stuck here for three days.

Once you free the third monkey, they will form a bridge over the very first bridge that is missing. Or the fourth monkey, I forget. You just need to find the monkeys again, and they will lead you to the next room you need to get too.

Once you free a certain number of monkeys, they will form a bridge over the first broken bridge, and you can get to the baboon, who has stolen the boomerang.

Once you have the boomerang, you can shoot it at the top of the wind powered towers (and the bridges) to get them to spin.

Basic rule for this dungeon: Follow the monkeys!

Avoid going to walk-though sites until you've done the whole game. That's why you bought it.
In the wind powered columns that you refer to, look on the ground you will see the pattern that the boomerang has to follow to open the gate. Regarding the columns, they need to be hit two or three times in a row to fall over, or drop, whats on top of them. If you don't have the boomerang yet, back track because you're missing a room or two or, you're not there yet.
If you have to use the walkthroughs, go straight to the part where you're stuck and read just enough to get by it.

Your major problem is that you only have three monkeys, and you need four before you can get the boomerang.

Go to the room with the man-eating plants and bomb spiders. I know you have been there because you have three monkeys. Two monkeys are in two different paths from this room. One is obtained by climbing some vines after jumping over a place where a man-eating plant used to be. The other is behind the boulder you see after performing said jump. Use the bomb spider above the vines to blow up the boulder, and the fourth monkey should be obtained easily. You may need lantern oil as well.
