Wireless: Linksys

And I just got a new modem yesterday, so it's not that problem.

There's a good change that your DSL modem and your Linksys router are set to the same I.P. Address.

Go into the Linksys router configuration and change the I.P. address for the router to something like 172.22.74.01

You may wish to contact Linksys and have them talk you through this, although the manual should suffice.

There are two solutions:
1. check that there are no loose wires and connections and that the modem is ON.
2. Get an ethernet cable and connect one end into ur laptop and the other into one of the wired connection slots in the back of the router.
then change the wireless channel and create a security WAP password if not already done so.. Restart the router.
3. If the above does not work go through the installation process again or take it back to the shop.

Along with your normal Windows Firewall you have a firewall that comes with the Lynksys router you have. You're going to have to disable one of them in order to have your connection restored.
