Do you think we have come to the point of being too politically correct...to the point we are censoring ourselves? I think saying "Happy Holidays" is generic, and that you should say , Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, (or whatever religion one celebrates, or none) to the person you are speaking to celebrates. I celebrate Christmas, but when my jewish friends say Happy Hanukkah to me, I'm not offended, and vice versa.

Any thoughts/opinions on this? Have we just whittled away at the true meaning of everything anymore?

People should be intelligent enough to know that when someone wishes you a Merry or Happy whatever they celebrate that it is meant to wish you the same happiness they feel for their celebration. Those who are offended are small minded.

Merry Christmas everyone.

I think we worry too much about what other people think. If you grew up saying "Merry Christmas" and that is what you are used to, I do not believe that you should change just because society says it might be offending to someone. If these people are your friends they will not be offended, if they are less than aquaintances, why should it matter?

I say Merry Christmas. Would not be offended by wishes from other religions. Provided, of course, that they were sincerely offered.

I say Merry Christmas. I was raised that way. If people are offended by my words, that is not my problem, at least i know that my thoughts were sincere.

I prefer to say "Happy Holiday," to everyone because it covers all of the celebrations. There are people who I do not know well enough to know which they celebrate.
