Just to put the facts straight: The people who want to remove the statue is the Mahlangana clan in Manyeleti near Bushbuckridge (how many people are part of that clan? A few 100 maybe?) - not the ANC. I don't think it'll happen. Paul Kruger was a good man - an Afrikaner hero - not an imperialist like Rhodes.

Everybody knows our government is a bunch of six-year-olds in adult bodies. The idiots don't have a clue what they're doing. The park was Paul Kruger's idea, why take the credit away from him? Because he's white? Just yet more proof how racist our current ANC government is. If he didn't proclaim (part of) what is Kruger park today all that biodiversity would be lost to banana plantations and SA would have been minus an international tourist attraction and the fat cats in government minus a lot of money. The sooner SA rids itself of this government the better, before they rid us of everything that makes sense.

I hope it doesn't happen. There have been a lot of things that had to change in SA to convince and reassure the majority that the future was going to be different from what they'd experienced in the past. Some names may have had to change as part of this and that's completely acceptable and reasonable.
But it's 12 years down the line now and we seem to be faced with a systematic desire to wipe all evidence of the white race from the face of South Africa. Colonialsim is an integral part of the fabric of SA - the country wouldn't be SA if it hadn't happened. No judgement on whether it was positive or negative (I believe both) but it did happen and can't be wiped away by changing the name of everything in sight.
Reconciliation and living side by side in a new partnership - that's what it was supposed to be. That seems to have been wishful thinking on the part of a few optimists.

I think it is crap - they should really grow up and leave the past in the past... The government spend all these millions and millions of rands on changing names of towns, streets, airports and taking down Ou oom Paul Kruger's statue (that has been there for what seems like forever) while half the nation is starving, dieing of HIV Aids, unemployed, running out of electricity and carbon dioxide for soft drinks ! Seriously, they should prioritize what they use their precious funds for - money doesn't grow on trees... And they should stop trying to change the past ! Taking down his statue and changing names doesn't change the fact the there was apartheid long ago... And you are right - MESSING with our HISTORY is definitely NOT COOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are poking where it is not needed. South Africa is fast heading for a war. The fuse is set and only needs the spark. People aree gatvol and sooner or later all hell will break loose.
Get your stuff together and get organised into groups to protect yourself and pray little happens in your area...

Get used to it, guys, the criminal thieves from the ANC are embarking on a campaign to erase all memory of the Afrikaner from South African history.
Thirty years from now, the Afrikaner will only exist in ANC history books.

Next you gonna have people from home affairs phoning all the citizens of South Africa with surnames like: Strydom, Kruger, van der Merwe, etc... to inform them that their surnames are being changed because it is part of the "Old South Africa". Can you imagine Thabo from home affairs phoning Mr Koekemoer to inform him that his new surname is now Thsabalala?
