They defeated iran 2-0 in the semis and iraq with 1-0 in the finals to claim the gold medal.I think that Qatar national football team will become the best in the middle east in a few years.Wht do u think?

sebastian the qatar player and yasser the number 10 playmaker are good, they where the 2 most shining players in the qatari team, they contributed a lot, congratulations to u :)

Not personally. But a friend of mine has won numerous gold medals, and 2 silvers while on the Canadian National Women's Hockey Team

QATAR's victory against IRAQ in the 2006 Asian Games football final was simply amazing for the host nation. who would have thought that they can beat the defending champions, IRAN in the semi-finals but indeed they have done it!!

They deserved to win over Iran, but Iran the (defending champion) was with its 30% strength, bear in mind that its a ver very difficult for Qatar to increase their class of football and reducing their distant with IRAN japan korea etc.

I was surprise at frist that Iran lose but Qatar was great and it is nice to see them compete and won the gold medal.....They seem like a nice country....Love to see more of them in the furture. ('',)
