Why is it at Christmas people go mad with everything? The supermarket is closed for only two days, but yet most people shop as if there is going to be a nuclear war! If you go to the supermarket on Christmas eve there's some bird who wants to fight you for the last loaf of bread and the last pint of milk! There's never anything on the shelves! Anyone else noticed this?

yes jo i know exactly wot u mean. this year i`m going armed to the teeth to sainsbury`s! i`m bringing an uzi sub machine gun, a set of throwing knives, a garrot wire, an electric cattle prod, a baton and as we speak i`m being trained in the art of ninjutsu. i`m gonna get that last loaf and that last carton of milk even if i have to do an early morning raid. NO b*stard is gonna beat me to it this year! the worst culprits are those grannies that use delaying tactics wiv their trollies. have u noticed how they team up in 4`s to block off the gang ways then they send off a silent assassin to get the last loaf! well not this year they don`t! i`m gonna abseil down from the ceiling and break their hearts!!!

It saddens me a little that you would think "cos they will blow us up if they don't get they're way?" is a reasonable thing to say. I think banning christmas from schools is probably a bit of an overreaction. Much as I believe some councils in the UK don't have christmas lights on the streets any more - they have "winter festival" or some such. However, if you're going to allow christmas, you've got to allow everything else - so something should be done for ramadan, and rosh hashana and any one else's festival too. They're all just as valid. As for you case of the girl being raped. This is clearly very sad - both for her, and for the poor warped mind in this man's head that says that it's right to rape a girl to punish her for not dressing the way he believes god expects her to.

Me, I absolutely hate supermarkets at this time of the year, people are manic, pushing, shoving, glaring and snarling, last year I got a gateaux out of the freezer, the last one, some old lady bent into my trolley and nicked it whilst my back was turned, I got whacked on the ankle by several trolleys, its worse than road rage, this year I'm going to do my shopping at 2 am and hope its a bit quieter with less hassle and drama.

It,s a sort of madness, making sure you have more than enough of eats and drinks for the time the stores our closed. Also that end of another year feeling ,that you have survived the year so to hell with everything and go mad for christmas. Why not ,it,s only one time a year, untill sales madness takes over of course.

Hehe I love it, makes me laugh that's part of Christmas for me, the crazy mad shopping on Christmas Eve where you buy enough chocolate and pickles to last you a month.

people are under so much pressure to have the 'perfect christmas' that they get totally stressed out by it all, and tend to turn into raving loonies..... it's the same every year. don't worry - only 9 more days of madness to go...... mind u, it'll all start again when the shops open back up for the sales.....

I'm the reverse. I don't do much shopping at Xmas. That way people invite me to Christmas dinner and other freebie parties. Its great.

yes, and i think its just madness, people forget the true meaning of christmas and try to out do each other, then end up paying for it when the bills come in.
