Absolutely. Even back when your dad went to school a college degree opened more doors. They have done studies recently about how much more $$ college grads make over the course of a lifetime. That is unfortunate. Hope things go better for you. =)

Not nessesarly. These days people look further than qualifications. They look at your experiance and potential.

There are quite a few people that go to colage and university, spend thousands of pounds and then end up with no job what soever.

As they have no experiance and are over qulified to work somewhere like macdonalds or something.

If you dad has the drive and ditermination he could do almost whatever he wants. There are so many oppotunities these days for aprentaships and the likes. He just needs the support to go for it.

It wont be easy in the short term but in the long run he will be better off and happier in a job that he loves.

Good Luck x

No, even if he had finished college, it all depended of him to get a better job. My father had a similar situation, he had to sustained his mom and siblings. Because my grandfather was always away working as a private detective. So my father had 2 jobs, he didn't have money no even for an alarm clock or bus money so he could get on time to his job, so he left earlier to work and waited for hours until they open the place where he worked, and so on. Now years later he's a very successful business men. I'm so proud of him even he didn't spent too much time with us because of his job.
Try to give him some company, and don't talk about what he could have done and didn't do. Just let him know that you are glad that he is your father no matter what.

i'm sorry to hear about your family's financial problems. if he was able to stay in college, your family would be better off, although i've heard bill gates is a high school dropout.

also i refuse to deny the fact that the government intentionally keeps poeple of certian races from being succesful.

i hope you have better luck in the future
