There are 4 staff & 4 different shifts. 8, 8.15, 8.30 & 9 start.
I need to work out a shift rota which allows each staff member a chance to do each shift. Only one person per shift per day. One of the 4 has to do a week of 8 & then a week of 9 start.
Complicated I know.....HELP!!

person one is the one who does week of 8 then week of 9.
person 2 always works monday 8:15, Tuesday 8:30 then on the week of number 1's 8 o'clock works wednesday at 9 and the alternate week 8:15 then always thursday 8:15 and friday 8:30.
Person 3 works 8 oclock all week when person 1 works 9 and on the alternate weeks works mon-8:30 tues 9:00 wed 8:15, thurs 8:30 fri 9:00.
Person 4 works all the other shifts.
If this doesn't work because of shift lengths for each start time being more or less. Ask me again explaining what time each shift ends.

I would be able to help but you have not supplied enough data to work it out.

IE
start and finish times
holiday entitlement are holidays required to be calculated into the shift pattern
number of days and hours worked each week
any pay back hours / days
number of hours per person per year required to work.

is it just covering the days or covering the nights as well

if it just days start with each person doing each of the shifts and rotating on a weekly basis.

so on
week one
8 start person a

week 2
9 start person b

week 3
8.15 start person c

week 4
8.30 start person d

week 5 start again.

if you require assistance please provide the additional information

Can't you put the one who needs to week of 8s at 8 each day, and rotate the others, then do the same with 9, rotating the others? Or is that too simple... ?
