Sounds like a plugged duct. Take a hot shower and massage in circles in that area. The heat and massage should help to unclog things. And be sure to keep nursing as that will help too.

If you have a temperature and you can see a red line running across your breast, you probably have mastitis and will need antibiotics.
If you can't, it's probably a blocked duct. Get your baby to nurse frequently on that side. Point the baby's chin in the direction of the lump if you can. You can apply warm heat, like a wet washcloth, or stand in the shower. Massage gently from the lump toward the nipple. And you can take Tylenol to help with the pain.
It might take a bit, but those things really do work. Sometimes you can literally feel the duct come unblocked as your baby nurses.
And it's totally fine for the baby, so don't worry about that.
They say you can develop clogged ducts from pressure on the breasts, like a poorly-fitting underwire bra. But I never wore those when I was nursing, and I had quite a few.
Hang in there.

Lots of good suggestions from others. Rest as much as you can today. Nurse on that side very frequently. Every time baby nurses, start on that side. Try to offer the breast every 2 hours rather than waiting for your daughter's ques. You can cut out all food today and tomorrow, and only nurse, if your daughter is content with that. This will help the milk duct to become unplugged and you will avoid an infection. Warm water on the area is good too, or warm compresses. I'm a mother of 5 and I've nursed 11 years, and have had many plugged milk ducts - even developed a fever once, just got in bed and nursed baby lots, but it cleared right up and I've never had to take any medication for a breast infection. Just nurse, nurse, nurse and rest/sleep, and you should be fine :-)

it's most likely a colgged milk duct. Have you been running a fever? Normaly when you get a clogged duct you will come down with a fever. You need to go on antibiotics. Try and see if you can get into another doctor and when you call the office tell them that's what you think it might be. I had the same problem a couple months ago and it HURTS. try to use a warm heating pad until you can see the doctor. And make ssure you get the baby to nurse a lot on that side. I know it hurts at the beggining but the more he/she nurses the better it will feel.

I used to work for WIC as a breastfeeding "coach". You need to keep nursing...and start on that side. Hot showers directed on the affected breast and massage like you are trying to work it out of the breast. When you let baby latch on, point his nose towards the lump. Hot compresses, and Tylenol for any pain.
If you are still having problems Monday, call your lactation consultant or doctor. If you start running a fever that is a sign of infection and you will need an antibiotic.
Anyway, most important is to keep nursing...that baby will get the clog out best.

It is most likely a clogged milk duct. Massage (gently) the area of the lump and were it hurts, also try to breastfeed on that side a bit more to try to help the clot pass.

Take some Tylenol for the pain and continue to breastfeed. Believe it or not, baby's sucking helps relieve clogged ducts. It is also safe to breastfeed when you have fever. Soak in a warm tub or put warm towels over your breast to eleviate your discomfort. See your doctor as soon as you can.
Hope you feel better soon!
