With Christmas less than 2 weeks away I am starting to get scared that there is going to be no Christmas for him this year and nothing under the tree. I have not a cent to my name right now. I tried the salvation army and they said they could not help. The local toy drive turned me away because they closed their list, another toy drive said we make $10 dollars over the income level needed to apply. I am really getting scared because my son is 5 and he still believes in Santa. Can someone please tell me where I can get help, or if someone is willing to help please let me know. Thank you and God Bless.

In my area, there is a radio station that is doing a "Christmas Wish" campaign. Perhaps there would be something similar in your area. If you dare to add detail about where exactly you live, perhaps people in your area will be able to respond.

Also, you might be able to find a couple of very low-cost toys at a thrift store.

Perhaps there is a Sub for Santa available at your son's school.

Also, you could possibly ask family and/or neighbors who know your son to each contribute one item.

I hope everything works out for the both of you this year. Merry Christmas!

I am a school counselor and sometimes people tell me of a child who is need of help for Christmas gifts and probably won't get a visit from Santa because of financial troubles. I have always been able to find someone to help the child out with gifts under their tree! Contact your child's school counselor and ask. The worst that can happen is they might have to say no they couldn't help you. I've never done that, but we live in a small community that is very generous when it comes to children and Christmas! Bless you and your little one.

OMG, you sound like the bestist mom ever. I would recommend a local church they can help like start a fundraiser for fams in the neighborhood not just yours. Go to the mall and get pictures with santa. OMG, i wish i lived buy you because i would donate like billions of toys to your son. Seriously, go to you fams house and tell them they might help. Write a letter to Ellen or Oprah. I really hope you have a good christmas and your son too.

Check with a local Church, they are always willing to help. Also the Toys for Tots campaign will NOT turn a child away. Also check with the local Fire Dept or Police Dept, they help too. Also check with any local Lions Club,or Women's Organization. Check with the local radio or tv stations as well,if they can't help usually they know where you can go to get some help or can get in contact with someone to help you. Merry Christmas and he will Believe but you have to trust and believe as well.

I don't know how you feel about churches, but they really are willing to help. our church's mission statement says htat we are a church founded on helping the community so we do a lot of outreach work and giving. Even to those that have absolutely nothing to do with us. I am so sorry that you are going through this, it's tough. But, churches really are willing to help, so don't let being not religious stop you if you aren't and I hope that you and your son have a very merry Christmas and God Bless you both! It is courageous of you to ask for help!

state police agencies have toy drives; toys for tots; local church, just call them up and tell them your story ; do you have family that could help? ; go to a supervisor if they have closed their lists, what state, city are you in?; think the marines also have toy drives ; I know that I have donated to these drives; food bank may be able to direct you as well; hang in there ; post more information so we can help you. The Lions; the Knights of Columbus

Local churches will help and community centers. Try Cathlic or Luthran charity, they have all kinds of programs in our area, maybe they will have some in yours too. Also our city township offers help like this too. We have shop with a cop too. Good luck to you and I hope you have a Merry Christmas.

Im not sure as to i dont have kids. But maybe call your mother, father, or any relative, asking them if they still have toys in good condition that you used to play with. Maybe pick your favorite one and label it from you instead of Santa and when he opens it explain to him why its important to you. He is young but he will understand that it has alot of meaning to it.
Or even, he is still young enough to just have a big box (if you can find one) and just to have him and you draw on it. And make it into a RocketShip or something. He will have lots of fun inside of it. Especially if you both play together.
