Yesterday i went in for my 11 week sonogram. First one i've had. The sonographer found a yolk sac and what she believed to be a fetal pole. Although there was no heart beat she said the baby measured at six weeks not eleven. I was unsure of the date of my lmp but that couldn't account for missing 5 weeks!! Could it? Is it more likely that my baby just quit growing at 6 weeks or could this lady just not know what she's talking about. I have a backwards tilted uterus...could this have anything to do with it? The doctors won't tell me anything! I have to wait until atleast monday. I took another preg test to see if i still had traces of hcg and it showed up a very dark pos. So the levels must be high...what could be going on? Has anyone had a similiar experience? I'm frustrated and confused.

It's completely possible to be that far off! I went in after I got a positive pregnancy test...so my LMP put me at nearly 9 weeks. I was fine with it (my hubby and I were going to start trying in Decemeber anyways). Well, she sent me for an early ultrasound that week (it's routine with my doctor because she is VERY complete with things). I went in and the Tech said she found the sac, but nothing was there and so I had a breakdown! Well, blood tests showed me as pregnant also. I went in 1 week later and my HCG levels went up as they should and placed me at about 4.5 weeks. I had my second ultrasound that day, and the Tech dated me at between 4 and 5 weeks not the 10 weeks my LMP said I should be. My LMP was just completely off! I am perfectly fine and I am 18 weeks along now with a fetal heart rate of 155! I go the 28th to find out the sex!!
I completely understand how you feel, but stay positive! It's probably a slip up in your ovulation that threw everyone off. It happens! That's why my doctor always sends for an early ultrasound. Pray if you believe in that and RELAX! Stress will cause more harm anyways. Email me please, and let me know when you figure it out.

Well...if it is only 6 weeks along, then the ultrasound tech may not have been able to detect the heartbeat....However, It sounds to me like something odd is definately going on. I don't mean to freak you out or scare you, but i will be honest. I miscarried triplets last December and when I went in for the ultrasound, we thought we were at about 16 weeks along. They found three fetal poles and one had stopped developing at 8 weeks, one at 10 weeks and one never developed past just a couple of weeks. My body had not rejected the pregnancy yet and I was continuing to produce amniotic fluid even though I had essentially been carrying around 3 deceased fetus for over a month. I had no cramping or anything.
The reason why you have to wait until monday is because your body produces that hcg hormone while you are pregnant and in a viable pregnancy, the level of hormone should double every 48 hours. I too had to wait two days before I got any clear answers...it was the hardest time in my life.
Having a tilted uterus will not make a difference. I have had two healthy babies with a severely tilted uterus and endometriosis. The only thing that a tilted uterus will affect is your ability to concieve..which doesn't even have and affect that much anyway.
I know that you are frustrated and confused...but you need to try and relax. Get plenty of rest and try to be patient until you can find out more. Easier said than done...I know. If you are experiencing a miscarriage, my heart goes out to you. It is a very difficult thing to deal with. The waiting period is the hardest. I wouldlike to offer any support that I can if you would like to e mail me directly. I know how painful and frustrating this can be. No matter what anyone says, it will not take away the pain and frustration that you have but I can offer some good advice.
Good luck to you and I will keep you in my thoughts.
P.S. Not that this will help any right now, but most women go on to have completely healthy pregnancies after a miscarriage. I am now 36 weeks along with one very healthy and active baby girl. You were just meant to have the perfect baby and the one that you are carrying may not have been the right one.

I'm very sorry to hear about what you are going through. I didn't go through exactly what you are going through but I wen to a doctor that said I had a big tumor in my ovary and that i had to get it removed along with my ovary. I got a second opinion and what i Had was totally different. Don't give up hope. Remember to have faith because god works in mysterious ways. Get a second opinion and that person that did the sonogram had no right telling you your diagnose. Wait until the doctor tells you whats going on. Good luck and I will be praying for you.

I just want to let you know not to worry - worry is not good for the baby or you.
However I am just as confused as CHRSBAN is - I have read you previous postings about this baby and your questions are very erractic.
Quote your question: ""What all is done during a d&c? I just found out yesterday that my baby died five weeks ago in the womb and i would imagine this is probably what they will do? Will I be put to sleep? And does it hurt?""
Then you indicated later that you don't have insurance and can you have a natural D/C???
Why if you don't have absolute proof - would you even post these questions??
I pray that all is well and you aren't just looking for sympathy for something that really isn't going on.
Sorry if I seem tough - but your previous questions - lead me to question you!

how does he know what you said yesterday? You can still have traces of the hormone and not be pregnant....you will have to wait for the results though, because you shouldn't trust anyone's opinion on here......for something that important. What will be will be...
