Unfortunately, in my opinion, the concept of the United Nations was entered into by the covenant nations with the (naive?) belief that through the UN, they could get the rest of the world to behave "right" (meaning, the way WE know they should do things). As things progressed, it did not work out that way, so we ended up with squabbling groups of countries, none of which are willing to give any power to the UN for fear that the other countries in the UN (or some of them) will end up telling that country what to do, and having the means to enforce it.

Super powers do not like to give up their authority over the world. The very formation of security council and veto powers make the other nations of lesser value in the UN. Ultimately what ever is decided by the security council that prevails. One good thing is at least a world war and a total Holocaust can be avoided as long there is UN.

Are you kidding??????? Hand over control to the UN, when the majority of participating UN member nations are corrupt in their own nations, and cannot even run their own countries properly????

Also, implementing a one world government is putting too much power in the hands of a few. Haven't we learned from the failures of communism and dictatorships??? Ultimate power CORRUPTS!!!
