June Brown the actress who plays Dot Cotton does actually sound somewhat like the character she plays, however she is an actress and does add a bit of a twist to her accent for the programme eastenders. She has been heard to be a bit posh. However she is much nicer in person.

I've heard her being interviewed on TV and although she has the same low pitch, she speaks with a cultured voice. When she plays the part of Dot, she seems to have a more cockney accent.

unfortunately she doesnt sound at all like she does on eastenders. i met her after a show in london and i expected her to sound like that but was surprised when she didnt
