I guess, as long as you like math, science, and grammar too; otherwise save yourself four years and several thousand dollars and become a babysitter.

I love kids too but I dont' want to spend 8 hours a day with 40 (elem) or 300 (older ) other People's kids.5 days a week for 50 years .As a sub teacher I can tell you there's more to it than babysitting..kids are undisciplined, unruly,(some of them) and it takes a LOT of patience..they all have different learrning techniques..some have learning problems. It takes a LOT of devotion and time..On the good side..if you can make a difference in the life of 1 child, it's worth it..You just have to decide if you want that responsiblity..Kids are gifts and we need LOTs of good teachers but you don't want to teach a few years and regret it..

Do you see them paying attention when you explain something ?

If you enjoy teaching people things... and you like children, go ahead!

You could also be a school counselor, after-school camp adviser, or a bus driver.

You should definitely go into some classrooms and observe different teachers at different levels to see if you want to dedicate your time and studies to that field.

Well, there are lots of occupations where you can work with children that aren't teaching. Are you good at conveying instructions? Are you creative and a good speaker? How do you handle discipline or students who are at different intelligence levels? There are jobs like child psychologists/therapists, social workers, and day care staff where you can work with children as well.

there's more to teaching than liking kids. "liking kids" before "liking teaching" can be hazardous to your health. ask your teachers for info on where your "likes" can take you.

Please be careful.. There is SO much more to teaching than liking kids. Also, no matter how much you like them, there will always be some that you don't like.
