Both processes involve replicating DNA and producing more cells. In mitosis, two diploid cells are produced, while in meiosis four haploid cells are produced. Meiosis is mainly for the production of reproduction cells, like sperm or eggs. Mitosis covers the rest of the body's cells.

Mitosis is the cell division of somatic cells - the vast majority of cells. Meiosis is the cell division of germ cell or reproductive cells.

Mitosis cell division results in the same number of chromosomes as the original cells.

Meiosis cell division results in half the number of the original chromosomes. Therefore, when an egg and sperm unite - the correct number of chromosomes are present in the new cell for that species.

All the ones are easy...
and i'll try to be concise...
41.:
Mitosis and meiosis both are types of cell divisions...
Mitosis: 1. no. of chromosomes is same in duaghter cells as in parent cell.
2. it occurs in all somatic (body) cells
Meiosis: no. of chromosomes is reduced to half.
2. it occurs in germ (sex) cells.

42. cant ryt exactly
43. sexual: it involves two parents i.e. male n female
asexual: it requires only one parent. e.g. binary fission (Amoeba), budding (Hydra).

44. Natural selection can change pop. by succesively selecting "fit" individuals and hence amplifying a character which is in generations, by and by, changed in whole of species

45.

46. cells have both genes of being cancerous and as wellas genes that supress them...
if the latter ones fail to function properly, the cell divides infintely and becomes 'cancerous'

47.check out your book.
48. mutation is a sudden inheritable change in the genes of an individual. it may occur by radiations, etc.
Such mutation causing substances are known as Mutagens

49.Many differences. check out bookj.:
a. Plant has cell wall.. animal cell lacks.
b. plant cell has polar body... Animal cell has Centrosomes..
c. plant cell > Large vacuole... animal>> no or small vacuoles

I like answering questions posted by people on Yahoo! Answers because I like being able to help others learn.

But this is clearly a prime example where the asker is clearly lazy, does not want to learn, and just want to pawn off answers (just like the above poster mentions) from other people.

Why should others waste their time when you clearly are too lazy to exhibit any motivation to learn? Sadness - back in my days kids didn't have access to things like Yahoo! Answers and it's no wonder why kids these days are getting great homework grades.
