The deadly and disastrous civil war in the US caused the unity of many states and the creation of a great country. It would be impossible to imagine today a war between California and Oregon.
Could we think that the wars going on in the world today are similar to the civil war in the US and will be the cause of world unity?

The US Civil War didn't cause Unity. It was fought, by the north anyway, to keep the union together. Still, to this day, there are lingering regional hostilities (albeit, not really physical/military).
It took strong leadership on both sides to come together after the war was over.

The wars today will NOT be the cause of unity unless we have more people willing to lead the charge for peace in the world. More people around the world need to be stronger in their condemnation of war as a political option.

No, I don't think there are really any similarities between the US Civil War and any wars today.

Actually the Civil War separated the United States because of the states that withdrew from the union.

No, I cannot see any war right now causing unity, only separation. If the US people would unite together in patriotism, then I can imagine a great change would occur.

All the "Liberals" versus "Conservatives" mess fostered by Fox Network and the Republican party is tearing our country apart.
