it has square black and white squares on is this broke

when this monitor is turned on it has squares in black and white that change from black to white

no there big sqaures about a inch wide and height and the middle squares alternatly turn black and white

Do you mean some very, very tiny squares? If so, they're dead pixels, nearly every monitor has them. As I recall, the accepted "norm" is 5 dead pixels. If they're not interfering with your work, ignore 'em.
