Hot water and a grease cutting soap like dawn or a very light colored laundry detergent. Then Oxiclean with warm water works well to help restore the color.

This sounds strange but it works -
Waterless hand cleaner - yes, the stuff mechanics use - rub it in, then out. Rinse with a bit of water. Let dry then vacuum.
Another way is to apply about a 1/4" of cornmeal on top of the stain. Rub it in well, then let it sit for an hour or more. Vacuum off.

If its a fresh stain try pouring baking soda over it to help to absorb the oil. Then vacuum it up and after try something like Resolve or Shout on the stain.

I use easy off oven cleaner, it is designed for greasy messes in the oven so it really gets them off of anything.
