The ones that are currently winning and/or the champions. There are so many fair-weathered fans & people jumping on the bandwagon of the "hot" team now that it's pathetic.

NCAA Football: Notre Dame
NHL Hockey: Maple Leafs

Baseball - Yankees, the symbol is known worldwide and they have a good mix of backgrounds on their team as well, which makes them more marketable
Basketball - LA Lakers...thirty years ago it might've been the Boston Celtics, but between Magic, Kareem, Shaq, and Kobe...there's really no comparison
NFL Football - Dallas Cowboys...hence the nickname "America's Team"
NCAA Football - Notre Dame Fighting Irish...it helps when all your games get broadcast on NBC
NHL Hockey - Detroit Red Wings...one of the original teams of the NHL, most storied franchise
World Soccer (Football) - Manchester United...I barely know soccer, but I know ManU
