Im going to Hermosillo with my car,registered in Arizona, Do i need to get a permitte or anything i have to do before i go there?

Hermosillo is in the 'free' zone (most of Sonora) just like Baja ... so you don't have to register your car. You just need a tourist visa and should have Mexican insurance

I think you need a permit if you are staying for more than 72 hours in mexico. That is the latest rule and it's always good to make use of any tourist bus cuz, the roads in mexico are not suitable for our cars. Morover the traffic police in Mexico charge fines unnecessarily from American travelers. This happened to many of my friends.

THE DOORS ARE NUMBERED FOR YOUR CONVINIENCE.
YOU TAKE OUT YOUR PERSONAL PERMISSION u.s. passport is perfered and for 180 days it cost 20 dlls. tiping is voluntary and if you want, give them 2 dlls. each person who tends to you. what ever you desire to. i have given 5dlls. to each person. only 1 time. the rest a buck or 2
THEN YOU GO TAKE COPIES OF PASSPORT, DRIVER LICENSE, REGISTRATION AND IF YOU HAVE PROOF OF OWNERSHIP AS WELL TAKE IT.
AFTER COPIES, a small fee YOU GO TAKE THE CAR PERMISSION OF ONLY SONORA AND WHEN THE AGENT GIVES YOU THE PAPER TO SIGN " PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CHECK ALL THE INFO IS CORRECT!!!!!! MAKE SURE THE I.D. IS CORRECT, MAKE MODEL COLOR AND ALL CORRECT. 1 NUMBER IS WRONG OR IF ANYTHING IS WRONG MAKE SURE IT IS CORRECTED AND DON'T YOU DO DARE BE SHY ABOUT IT CAUSE A FEDERAL WILL MAKE YOUR LIFE MISSERABLE IN A CHECK POINT. THERE IS A CHECK POINT IN IMMURIS a little passing the 21 check point and the tacos are good there. SIGN IF ALL IS GOOD AND STICK THAT STICKER VERY WELL AND HAVE A GREAT TRIP!!!!!!!!

I think you just need to buy a permit, because you are going to pass some checking stations, and they are going to ask you for one if you have a car registered in the US.

Also make sure your Insurance is good for Mexico, a lot of insurers do not cover Mexico.

in some cases you do need a permit. it just depends how far in it is in. my dad go's every year and he has to get one every year.
