My eyes keep closing each time I try to put in contact lenses. No matter how hard I try to keep them open, I can't help it. My mom got close to putting one in last night but I am still having the problem. Please helpQ

Try this:
Rather than looking AT the contact, look thru the lens, focus at the mirror. As you bring the lens to your eye, just watch and guide it in the mirror. Don't think about it, just watch it happen, think of it as watching someone else having this done.

It takes a lot of practice to get used to them. Your eye Dr should have been helping you with this, you can contact him/her for more suggestions.

I had the same experience as yours it was really hard for me to do it the first time. So make sure your hands are clean before putting the contact lens in your eyes. Put the contact lens on your pointer finger (tip), make sure your contact lens is clean, open your eyes wide with your other hand, don't blink and put the contact lens. After that roll your eyes so the bubble from contact lens will be gone then close your eyes and then tap it and then open very slowly.

It's your natural reflex of closing your eyes when something about to go in them. So you must be like this with eyedrops as well.

My husband wears contacts and I know he said when he first started wearing them it was hard, he couldn't keep them in for very long because they were irritating, but he got used to it and wears them sometimes now when he wants to see more clearly (his glasses are weak). Have you tried looking up a little when you put them in, so you're not looking directly at them. Or try not thinking about it. Think of something else like...going to a concert or something.

i had the same problem when i first started wearing them. just make sure that your hands are clean and that the contact isn't inside out. sometimes it won't 'stick' to your eye if it's backwards. your eye automatically wants to close to keep stuff out. just hold the top AND the bottom open while putting the lense in. try not to think about keeping it open, cuz it kinda jinx's it. good luck!

Squeezing them out eh? or just not even getting close enough? Wash your hands. Now sit in front of your mirror and touch your eyelashes. don't rub your eyeball. Try to rub the base. This should get you used to getting close to your eyes. Now put a lens on your fingertip, try the third finger. makes sure it has enough moisture. look at yourself in the mirror then look up. Touch your lower eyelashes with your fourth finger and pull down. keep look up, DONT SQUEEZE! now put your middle finger with the lens forward until you feel it touch then look forward.
whomever perscribed your lenses should have a lens prep lesson for you, cause you need to know how to take it out before you put it in! give them a call and good luck.

could it be that you have astigmatism? my friend had a hard time putting here contacts in because she had astigmatism. thats when the cornea is oval like a football instead of spherical like a basketball.
