It seems to me, that all the Republicans I know fit either one or more of those categories. I also find it interesting that NY and Calif., who are at the highest risk for "terrorist" attacks, vote Dem all the time. What are your thoughts? And if you are a R that doesn't fit my above stereotype, please enlighten me. Thx!

I know Dems are rich...and I know they can be corrupt...let's just say I side with the lesser of the two evils.

Well, we have these born again hypocritical homeschooling overpopulating lying cheating scaming phony jerk neighbors who are using their kids illness to scam people out of money. Oh, and they still support Bush. And they're republicans. So, not me!

Not rich, a non-practicing Christian, not homophobic and I live in a rural community.

I vote Republican for two main reasons. Nationally, I believe in a strong military. On a state level, the last Democrat we had for governor caved into an animal rights group and created a 100-mile hunting-free buffer zone around a six million acre national park. Thanks to that bit of brilliance, some of the people who live near the town of Healy, Alaska, can't shoot a wolf - even if the wolf is eating their dog.

I fear that liberals would like to eliminate hunting all together, and that won't work up here. Too many people rely on getting a moose and/or a caribou to get through the winter. Most of our communities are not on the road system, so all of their groceries must be flown in or barged in. Needless to say, that makes things EXTREMELY expensive - in one village, milk is over $7 a gallon. What would happen to those communities if they are no longer allowed to hunt?

Sorry - WAY more than you're looking for, I'm sure....just felt the need to rant I guess.

Geez, I could have sworn California's governor was a Republican! And if they are at higher risk, the Republicans have been in power for years! NY doesn't run the Defense Department and seem to have a real hard time finding a fighter when they need one!!

You actually should be voting Democrat as many in your category are as poor as Democrats and the Republicans are letting you pick up the riches share of taxes!

I thought NY was hit when Bush was president, and he knew about it before hand, that Reagan cut and ran from Beirut where 242 of our Marines were killed by Hezbollah and was involved with selling arms to our enemy and attacking another country in Iran Contra where we were convicted of Crimes Against Humanity by the World Court, cut and ran like Nixon from Vertnam!

Many who make between 50 and $100,000 were the biggest increase in voters who voted Democrat as they are who Bush's taxes have been passed along to! Or will be! You can't live in deficit forever!

Many Republicans and Democrats are 2 Paychecks from poverty. They just don't find that out until they get laid off!

Don't blame me you vote for the party that loves to take your money and give it to the rich, hoping (Though Reagan and Stockman proved otherwise) that some of your own money will trickle down! Bush has done it twice and instead of the top 4% we are going to get the top 1%! Don't look, you aren't among them!

Yoy should work for Sachs at Wall Street who just gave each employee a $623,000 bonus as they made Billions in profit!

You are in the wrong party!

Well, I'm not rich yet. I'm heading in that direction, though, as fast as I can get there. Can't help poor people change their circumstances if you don't know how, now can you?
I don't consider myself homophobic either. Tried it, didn't care for it, but if it's your bag, go for it, is my mindset.
Also, Christianity is a good bit different from Churchianity. I believe that the vast majority of my fellow Republicans see themselves as Christians, but I personally believe Christ to be loving and excepting of ALL God's children, not just the Republicans. Maybe I'm just not a *good* Republican. There are things about the Democrats I just don't understand, tho.
For example, they'll stage a candle light vigil to prevent the overdue death by lethal injection of a pedophile multi murderer and scream about the *volunteer* soldiers (one of whom is my beloved younger brother, a devoted Republican), but they also allow the senseless murder of millions of unborn babies, every year since Roe v. Wade. How that makes sense is totally beyond anything I can comprehend. I would LOVE the opportunity to adopt a baby and raise it to be a warm, loving and giving member of society, but there are not many babies for adoption anymore, due to the wholesale murder of said babies.
I DO live in a rural community, but that's only because the taxes are so unbelievably high in the cities. I think we can agree that everyone knows who like to jack up our taxes...that's right, it's the Democrats.
How the people in NY and CA vote has no bearing on the terrorist attacks. If anything, it would be holding them at bay. A Democrat in the Whitehouse would actually be a *good* thing - for the terrorists. Not so much for America, but definately a good thing for the terrorists.
I don't know what you're trying to figure out, but I hope I was helpful.
Best wishes for a happy holiday, whoever you are.

I'm not rich. Last year I made $45K to support a family of 3. Doing better this year, but no way am I rich.

I'm an Atheist.

I'm not homophobic. Couldn't give a rat's behind which way somebody chooses to live their life.

I live in a major metropolitan area on the West Coast.

I am a Republican and proud of it! Why? Because the Republicans embrace conservativism (or they should be anyway). I believe in a strong national defense. I believe in having a foreign policy that puts America first. I believe in the greatness of America. I believe that America is a force for good in the world. I believe in personal responsibility. I believe we can all achieve greatness, not that we all need gov't help. I believe in the free market and that business produces prosperity. I believe in lowering taxes for ALL increases the economy and lowers unemployment. I believe in getting government off of our backs. I believe in killing the terrorists, not trying to give them more rights. I believe in trying to reform social security, not scaring the seniors. I believe that pulling out of Iraq is incredibly short sighted and will result in disaster for decades to come, both from increased terrorism and increasing instability in that region of the world. I believe that gov't programs and welfare just make us more dependent.

Here's an observation. Look at some of the hateful type of answers you've gotten in response. There are a lot more liberals out there accusing republicans of being gay, racist, bigotted, uneducated, etc., then there are Republicans responding attacking you as a liberal. Just keep it in mind when you consider which group is the "tolerant" and "educated" group.

I'm far from rich, and I live in a small city. I also have a few gay friends(men and women). Sorry, I am a Christian though. But I don't think that has anything to do with my political association. I'm not the only person like myself in my community.

NOT - Rich, Homophobic, Rural Area Resident.

AM - Christian and proud of it.

Even though I am a conservative Republican, the latter quality is all you need to know about me.

BTW - your stereotype is just that, a stereotype.

I am a Republican that would only fit your stereotype in one category. I am certainly not rich, I am certainly not homophobic and I do not live in a rural community. I am Christian but not perfect, just forgiven.

I'm Christian. Nothing else in your list. Sorry if that offends you. I won't let it happen again.
BTW are there any Libs who believe in personal responsibility, REAL freedom of speech (even when it goes against the Liberal mantra). And protecting the innocent (abortion) and Punishing evil (Capital Punishment)?

hmmm

I am not Christian, definitely not rich, i have gay friends, and I live in an urban community.

First off, California has a red governor, and that is not nearly 100% blue, it is closer to 50/50. New York is insane. I could care less who the states vote for, because i live in the worst state of the US economically, and that is a blue state known as Michigan
