Lots of people don't seem to admire this trait and would give it a negative spin...I'd say it's someone who doesn't carry baggage from previous broken hearts and still sees the beauty in those they love. They give more than they take and their glass will always be half full. They'll appreciate you for more than what you feel you're worth and in turn you'll see the wonders they bring. I'd date a poor romantic anyday than an economically successful and good looking guy.

Hopeless romantics love being in love. They are not all that questioning about the other person, because they love embellishing or indulging all the courtship rituals, like flowers, moonlight waltzes, cute cards, chocolates, holding hands during a movie, etc. Such persons are very vulnerable to heartbreak in this day and age of serial monogamy. Hopeless romantics may be better off with other hopeless romantics, or else it's going to be serial emotional mayhem for such idealists.

I think a hopeless romantic is someone who still believes, despite everything bad that may happen, that true love still exists, that happily ever after can still be found, that love still makes the world go around and that love is a force that will always be stronger than hatre. I hope that I remain a hopeless romantic for the rest of my life.

This is a person that lacks self respect and pro activity. A hopeless romantic often has a distorted view of reality and often plays victim. All the hopeless I know tend to be tools. They are fast adopted by abusive tyrants and used but never loved. They lack cynicism that would otherwise steer them away from meanies. They seem somehow to thrive on their permanent victim status and most of the "love" they get is in the form of sympathy from all but their abusers.
