Madam, unless you are going to do a lot of Video graphic creation
It does not matter if you buy a PC or a MAC! There is more off the shelf software on the market for a PC because MAC has tighter controls!

In the PC world, better system translates into capability and you can buy as much or as little capability as you want. NO one makes the only best PC/Laptop. All the parts are available for all the machines.

Do not let someone tell you what to buy. Buy what YOU want not what someone else wants you to have.

Get LAPTOP magazine, Go to several retailers web site
Copy, Cut and paste a system into a word document.
Copy the URL where you are at, all part references and price.
Build/configure that laptop into the document.
Your document should have: Hard drive size in GB, RPM speed 5400, or 7200, type SATA or IDE, DVD/CD writer/burner
Amount of RAM - MIN 1GB. CPU: AMD or Intel, currently INTEL dual-Core 64bit is the best. Do not buy a single core CPU.
Wireless all ready install. Include a video camera or finger identification hardware if you want it. Graphic system/card with at lest 256MB RAM not shared with the CPU.

Whose laptop it is does not matter if the site lets you configure it the way you want. Do not buy what is standing there, Buy what you want! There are a lot of sites that will allow you to configure/upgrade the product that you select! THAT IS THE BEST ONE1

no longer many execs to tell the fact. i'm unlikely to repeat the pros and cons of the different solutions because of the fact for the main section they're appropriate. confident viruses are super on workstation's yet an common loose antivirus like AVG will shop you secure. familiar to opposite concept there is rarely any difference between a Mac and workstation. all the indoors factors are an analogous and the mac does no longer have larger high quality factors. in actuality there are a number of workstation's with plenty larger high quality factors. the main difference is the working gadget. collectively as Mac OS X is sturdy and common to apply, it is not appropriate and is not any longer for each individual. abode windows 7 is likewise sturdy and effective and in simple terms as common to apply as OS X if used wisely. the super reason to stay faraway from macs are the cost. i comprehend human beings will say in addition geared up machines will value an analogous yet that's no longer actual professional for some exceptional workstation manufacturers like Alienware. the main inexpensive macbook is $999. you may get HP's and Dell's for $seven-hundred- $800 with each so often two times the reminiscence and annoyingcontinual, and a greater effective processor.

you opened a real can of worms by asking mac or pc. i'm surprised the fray hasn't really began.

anyway, to answer: you need to purchase what you are used to in a regular desktop. if you are used to the mac's, then get an ibook. if you are used to windows based pc's, find a vendor that you like.

either way you go, get an extended warranty. laptops parts are not as readily available and a bit more tedious to work on. mac's are especially expensive when it comes to repair.

i have had several dells - they are perfectly suitable for business use. my wife has a gateway and it has been outstanding. i've used toshiba's, they were fine but not great. the only problem i've seen with sony's, they have weak hinges - they tend to break if you open and close the screen with much regularity.

hope this helps.

a regular laptop gives you more programs to choose from, but a mac is better for graphics...you may need only a standard regular lap top.

I would check into the ACER as for brand name. The components in almost all computers are the same. If you buy an HP or Sony etc, they are really not any better, but you are spending several hundred dollars on the name.

My wife just bought the Acer..Aspire 9400. It has everything that the HP and Sonys have but she saved about $400 and it does everything she wants with it.

Save your money and spend it on a fun weekend someplace!

Well, a regular windows PC would is very user friendly. If you have used The Windows Operating system before then you should have no troubles with it.

Now, MAC is a decent computer basically it is a little more advanced. It is very different then Windows... You won't get as many viruses.

Well, I've used MAC in the newspaper business, and it is less susceptible to viruses. You can also use MS Word, etc. on a MAC.

I have a PC at home that I like too. I have convinced myself that the next computer I get will be a MAC.

get a mac. I've had both, and I can tell you with my regular pc, with just regular internet surfing, I got so many viruses. It was a total waste of money. I've had my mac for 3 years now it is so worth it. It takes a little getting used to, but no viruses. It's so worth it.

There is more generalized software for Windows based PCs. THere is more specialized software (graphic design specialty) for Mac. It depends on what you want to do with the computer.

I hear MAC never crash but they are very expensive. I love my Toshiba. But if I had the money, I would have bought a MAC.
