I have dark brown hair, caramel colored skin (kinda like angelina jolie in this pic http://www.jurassicpunk.com/stars/angelinajolie/angelina_jolie_13.jpg ) and hazel eyes. I've been experimenting with eyeshadow and I found that grayish colors bring out the green in my eyes. Do you think gray eyeshadow is ok to wear? Or is it too plain? How can I dress my eyes up more? thanks!!!

I actually line my top lash line with blackish/plum liner and then I put MAC eyeshadow in silver ring on my top lid to the crease. The colors are beautiful, but they seem too plain for me, like I need to add another color to the crease or something. Thanks for the answers so far!!!

LUCKY LUCKY! I have hazel eyes too! We're actually very lucky because we have some great options for eye makeup colors.
I have found that gray looks so fabulous with my eyes. The color (although dull) brings out the brightest tones. When I use gray, I first sweep some shimmer/white shadow on my entire eye lid all the way to the brow bone. Then, I use a brush (not the sponge thing that comes with the shadow) to sweep the gray from my crease to lash line. After this, I use black or brown liner above my lashes and below.
The nice thing about gray is that you can wear it anywhere and it doesn't look too "night time" or "vampy". Perfect for work, school, etc.
Other colors I would reccommend for your eyes are plums and purples--AMAZING!! Dark greens, coppers, browns and a deep blue (almost black).
The following website has some great information and step by step instructions for makeup--I LOVE IT! You'll notice on the right of the page, you can select a "look".

I would get 1) Matte Mauve 2) Silver Lining 3) Pretty in Pink I think pinks and purples really make hazel eyes "pop". The Silver Lining will probably be the least natural looking, but if you use a light hand in applying it should look fine. For a natural look I would stick with a brown or black/brown mascara. Or if they have a dark plum or aubergin mascara that would also give a bit of color.... although it may be a bit much if you use a lot of eyeshadow.

I have green eyes with some hints of blue. I wear gray eyeshadow A LOT. It definitely helps green/hazel eyes to "pop". I usually pair the gray with a white color. For example, MAC anti-establishment eyeshadow with MAC vanilla pigment

Are you wearing grey as a wash from lashes to just under the brow line, or more as a liner?
If you wear it as a wash, I would either line with charcoal or a dark taupe (brown that has grey in it).
If you wear it as a liner, I would use a taupe shadow as color on your lid up to just under the brow line, and then a lighter tone under your brow.
Either way, I think grey would make your eyes look stunning!

dark natural colours like grey, navy blue, forest green and brown look good on hazel eyes, i wont think its too plain to wear just one colour but if u want it to be more special, try to blend 2 colours together. wear a slightly lighter shade like sliver on your entire eyelid and into the socket . then, brush on a darker shade like grey on the middle of your eyelid up to the middle of your socket.
for a more dramatic effect, line a khol eyeliner at the top and rim of your lashes. if you dont want to use an eyeliner, use the same dark eyeshadow youve used before instead. hope this info helps...i also have hazel eyes and dark brown hair myself

If you tried it out and it looks good, then go with it. But personally I wouldnt just wear grey... two tone it with another color. I would also say that color on Angelina isnt all grey. It kinda looks like she also have a shimmery black or brown/dark brown.

Grey is perfectly fine, but blues or greens will make your eyes look more vibrant. With hazel eyes you can wear just about any eyeshadow and it looks great.
