Well.. technically we live in a 4 dimension universe. Height, Width, and Depth are used to measure distances, but also (in MOST cases, not all) Time is considered to be the 4th dimension.

A dimension is a direction that is perpendicular to another direction. Since we have length, width and height, all of which are perpendicular to each other, our universe has three (detectable) dimensions of space - but also one of time or duration, which is deeply connected with space , so the universe is at least four-dimensional.

x,y, and z. or length, width, and height. If you think about it on a piece of paper, x being left to right, y being up and down, and then coming straight out of the paper would be z. (paper dimensions are only 2 dimensions.

the three dimensions describe an objects ability to move in an environment. in a 3 dimensional world you can move:
1. up-down
2. left-right
3. forward-backward
