as our fathers were willing to die for freedom and now many americans gladly give up freedom for an illusion of security,
do you think we have become Sheeple?

Bush propaganda has made everything with us or against us...
Bush has made free speech support of terrorism...

what is the best way to stand up and declare that this is the opposite of our american dream?

How do we get things back to the way they belong?

I hope I get an answer from all types of people :)

its that freedom to say anything that I truly love.

I should have anticipated the "you have not lost anything response"

How can you truly notice somthing being stolen when it is stripped away so slowly?

I am still waiting however to be called a anti-american..
which ironicly would/will probably come from a ignorant person that has never read the constitution.

Although I dislike the term sheeple, a more involved and proactive people is something I desire. That said, I believe that the place to begin is at the other end of the scale, our local communities.

How many people here know how many elective positions there are in your county?
Do you know how many appointed positions exist in your county?
Do you know who holds these elected and appointed positions.
Do you know the budgets of the various jurisdictions for the county; for each incorporated municipality; for each township, for each school district?
Do you even attend any of the meetings for city council, county board of supervisors, board of education, township boards, commissions, boards committees?

These are all in your own community and are made up of people you know, and you can’t cite any of this.

What do you volunteer to do in your own community? How about Boy or Girl Scouts, or the 4H or the FFA.

Do you attend your local parades for your community or for the veterans?

If you are active you can impact you local community. If you are active, through your local community you can impact your State. If you are active, through your State you can impact the federal government.

Rather than talk about some distant federal government, what is it you actually do?

I'm not an American, I just thought I'd chip in my two cents (har har)

From the outside it is obvious to see that freedom does not exist in America. It seems to me like people in America are not aloud to talk badly about the war in Iraq, at least the media weren't, nor were you aloud to entertain conspiracy theories about 9/11...Nor is anyone aloud to actually consider the other side's story when it comes to 9/11. 'One mans terrorist is another man's freedom fighter' is a saying that seems to have very little weight in America.

From here (Scotland) America looks like a lot of homophobic, republicans trying to defend what happened in Iraq whilst ignoring the ever growing minority and imigration problems. I'm not saying we here are perfect, heck no, our prime minister decided to kiss bush butt, ignore the U.N, go to war get over 100 of our boys and girls killed, the appologise a couple of years later saying the war was a mistake...Also we have alot of problems with the NHS and stuff...

But anyway, I think we may all slowly be heading for 1984 if we are not carefull. It stars with small things, things that disguise themselves as protection, can anyone think of anything?

But the thing we have to remember, is that we can never truley be free. Freedom in a democracy is always an illusion. But we can have something close to it. Just watch out for the press being censored, or the media seeming biased...When that happens, we're in trouble.

There was once Americans roared like lions for freedom, now they bleat like sheep for security.
Norman Vincent Peale

Anyone who would give up freedom for a little security will have neither freedom nor security.
Ben Franklin

The patriot act is not a good thing for freedom. But other things that do not belong in a free country. Welfare (both to citizens and foreign countries), the taking away of property and water rights (we are no better than surfs on the land), taking away rights of business owner to hire/fire/pay as they please. Plundering wealth from those that work and give it to those who don't etc, etc.

Hahahaha! very nice very nice

How do you get things back to the way they belong? .. hmm

1. Return real world values to the people in place of consumerist greed
2. Educate the Sheeple and remove the mass media as a source of constant brain washing
3. Have Bush tried and convicted for the war crimes he has committed, then remove the obscene amount of corrupt power invested in the military.

People react to the world in response to the way they have been socialized.... television raises our children ...

"We the sheeple" ? definitely ! but it has been that way since way before we were born. All governments are that way, and most people are sheep, It' just that America have more sheep so we (America) rule the pasture.
Things were not better before, remember history? "The communist are going to take over" we believed that crap and went to war...
More people that are not sheep, but free thinkers, need to organize and change the way the governments of our world are ran. We need to stop pointing fingers ie; Bush, Clinton, the French..."We the people" of the World just sit on our asses and allow our governments to lie, cheat, steal...there "own people" and we are so impressionable we believe almost everything and become so gong ho to lay down our lives for these Governments.

Did someone take something away from you. Shall I call the police?

You haven't lost anything. You just think you have. And that's
because you would rather listen to people whose job it is to
cause desertion rather then thinking for yourself.

Try it, you might even get to like it.

MERRY CHRISTMAS and have a nice day.

Thank you very much, while you're up!!!!!
