What is a good site to look into? Any advice from experience? I guess an InDesign course would be better, since that is becoming more popular?

I haven't found any decent online courses. Those sorts of classes generally need more hands-on experience and instruction.
Quark is the print publishing standard. InDesign is more for amateurs.

go to http://www.adobe.com/products/indesign/ for the indesign one.
