Why do we always hear the term white trash,?

but never hear black trash, asian trash, etc.? Surely there are blacks, asians and others with low social staus and poor prospects. Why is the term not used for other races/ethnicity who are in the same social staus?

I'm not trying to spread hatred, it may have come across that way. I just simply want to know why the double standard. Not so much looking to start labeling others.

It is, of course, very supremacist, but it comes from a time when ’white’ was considered flawless compared to the other ethnies.
So white was good, the rest doubtful.
And then the sudden understanding that not all ’white’ was good.
Thus the expression.

it is a term that i have heard primarily southerners use when referring to poorer white people and whites who associate with people of color.

It is a sad thing that people feel it is OK to slur others with terms like these. we need to stop using slurs like this and the N word and any other derogatory term to describe people.

It is aptly and correctly called hate speech and it advocates hatred.

Terms like these, like other vulgar words are used by the most ignorant ones amongs us.

Poor people are just that poor. No matter color.

Well I think that there are derogatory names for certain members of all ethnic groups. We all know what they are...n***ars, ch*nks etc. White trash is just the one used for the whites.
