The greatest in terms of pure athletic ability may be lebron james, He however in terms of over all greatness does not even begin to touch Michael Jordan as some might claim. MJ is definately the best but others deserve mention, such as Magic, Larry Bird, Wilt Chamberlin, Oscar Roberston, and someday, dare i say it, Steve Nash?, in terms of stats, Jason Kidd belongs in there, just moved into 3rd for triple doubles, and of course how could I forget Kareem the Dream? but overall greatest has to be MJ, I dont beleive anybody else has ever led the league in scoring and won the defensive player of the year in the same season, enough said I think.

Spud Webb had incredible strength in his legs, but he wasn't fast enough because of his stature.
Michael Jordan is likely the general consensus out of African American atheletes because of his all around ability, so I'll say him.
For white players, I would say that Brent Barry in the early part of his career was a spectacle, especially at the dunk contest when he was on the Clippers.

Bill Russell, he revolutionized the game as a shotblocker and was the first great defensive force in the league. Jordan is a great player, but overrated and too revered by the black/puerto rican community, who hardly recognize Larry Bird as the clutch player he was. And you cannot forger Oscar Robertson, who played guard, foreward,.and center. If that is not versatile and athletic, I have no clue as to what is.

That's a tough question to give just one answer to.
There are many players who would fit:
Michael Jordan, Oscar Roberston, Julius Irving, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, among others.
They all exhibited the traits you seek.
Of all, I would say, Michael Jordan, though!
