It's been 3 months, I have a very long period, and I bleed extremely too much (it never happened to me before). My last period was about 18 days ago, and I'm having it now. Is this normal? What should I do? Thanks.

If you're young under 20ish, then irregular periods aren't toooo much of a concern.

I wouldn't be concerned if I were you UNLESS this happened on a regular basis.

In that case, you may have a hormone imbalance. But if this only happens here and there, don't worry about.

If it's always very frequent and heavy and is a big annoyance, a doctor (gynocologist) will help prescribe stuff to you or put you on birth control to help regulate it.

Definitely go see a doctor. If you're having heavy bleeding, as in going through one pad or tampon in less than 2 hours then something is wrong. You could have some sort of an infection or cyst. Give your doc or gyno a call definitely and talk it over with them!

that is not normal. to bleed so heavily. you should talk to your doctor about it and maybe ask about depo provera. he will dicuss the side effects with you. all that blood loss just opens you up to infections, viruses..... etc. depo is a birth control shot you recieve once every three months, i toook it and did not have a period the whole time i was on it. other methods could also be helpful, however easily forgotten.(pills, patches)

that happens to me sometimes .. I get an extra period about 1 time a year, however I don't know how old you are........I'm old enough that it's probably ok......but if you're only in your teens or 20's, i'd call your dr and explain.......it's hopefully nothing serious

good luck
