You are sooo correct. Last year's Steelers won and Rothlisberger had the lowest QB rating in Superbowl history. Tehy make a big deal that he was the youngest QB to win a Supebowl, but in fact the Steelers won despite him, not because of him.
The Ravens won their Superbowl season purely on having a great defense. But the QB spot is the glory spot on the team. They are considered the leader and therefore get alot of the glory.

It is a team thing. But a great quarterback can change a team. Big players win big games and it don't mean a thing if you ain't got that ring.
On the other hand, Marino never won one and he's considered to be one of the greats.

Quarterbacks are often given too much credit for team success and too much blame for team failure. Example from this season: Rex Grossman is given too much credit because his team happens to have a great record when in fact if it wasn't for great defense and special teams the Bears wouldn't even win six games this season.

Good point. I believe great defense has more to winning in football than quarterback play. Then again, to come from behind in the clutch requires great quarterback play. I guess it depends on the team.

I agree. Often times, MVP's and such, are chosen with the success of their team in mind.
One player should not be judged by the actions of his entire team.
