We live in a culture that really hammers us to spend-spend-spend. A part of maturing is recognizing that those advertisements aren't for you, they're for the advertiser. He wants the money you have worked so hard to earn.
How about writing a letter to yourself that you read NEXT Thanksgiving that will remind you that your family and true friends value you, not any gift you give them.
