It depends on how long you've been together and how close you are. Clearly you are no longer close to him but he is probably very close to you. And because you have probably been pulling away for awhile, he is even more attached than before! Somehow the person that is being pulled away from senses it and reacts by clinging even more? I'm not sure why but I've done it too.
Anyway, if it's been a short relationship than just tell him straight up that you are no longer interested in having a relationship with him. You no longer want to be his girlfriend. However, if it is a longer more serious relationship you have to be very sensitive. Regardless of what you say he will have a difficult time recovering but if you are compassionate in how you break up with him the healing process will be much shorter and easier and who knows, you may end up with a really good friend down the road?
Sensitivity is the key, be kind, answer all of his questions honestly, and don't react to his changing moods. Just realize that he is grieving and excuse any bad things he says. Don't forget that there was a time when you loved him ...you owe it to him to be kind.

I am sorry if this sounds harsh, but if all you were in the relationship for was because you DID have feelings then that was very selfish and shallow of you. Now, there is practically no way you can tell him without hurting him, that you don't care for him anymore. In fact, you never real did - in a true, unselfish way! Perhaps he deserves someone better anyway?
On the other hand, if he WAS with you, he might be just as selfish himself, in only wanting you because he had "feelings" for you, too.
Not the way to base a permanent relationship. Not a standard for anything permanent or true. Emotions and feelings (and passions) will always be fleeting. It's what humans are about!

Just tell him you care about him but you don't have the same feelings you once had, and thats it best you let him go instead of having him around when he can have somebody else. Maybe you can be friends?... If not, just end the drama and say its over.

You are one BAD girl. One day you just wake up and say "I don't love him anymore"! That's kind of weird. I don't think he deserves you if you are like that. Just tell him straight up.

just tell him how you feel and that it is over between the two my friend has the same problem and she thinks she is hurting him but men wont feel it they try to stay but my advice is for you to talk to him and just tell him its over if you don't feel a connection between the 2

just get it over with. tell him straight up what the issue is and end it. TELL HIM IN PERSON THOUGH. don't take the easy way out and do it over the phone.
