I work in a cubcile, and, about 7 feet behind me lies a very large, kinkos-sized printer that makes a loud and annoying "buzz" all day long. So, in order to solve the problem, I tried several things. 1) Switching cubicles (didn't work-->no available spots). 2) earplugs (they hurt my ear canals) 3) ipod at work (the music distracts me) 4)a white noise machine (it annoyed my boss, who sits next to me, so I had to shut if off). I AM LOOKING FOR the BEST, most creative and clever ANSWER, because, if I do get a decent answer, I will be so HAPPY and thrilled, and I WISH YOU a VERY happy holiday. Thanks again, and GOD BLESS!

Did you try moving the printer?

If you just want to cover the noise try using a fan in the summer or a space heater in the winter. If you aren't actually hot/cold just point it away from your body and you won't notice the air that much but will still hear the noise.
If you want to actually deaden the sound you can put up anything soft on the cubicle walls surrounding the printer, such as pluch carpet or actual acoustic panels. These will absorb some of the sound for everyone.
