I'm actually from the Mt Hood area, and not a year goes by that some group of retards doesn't go up the mountain and get their fool a**es lost.
This particular group was doing a light and fast hike, so they left essential life saving equipment behind, just so they could travel faster. On top of that fact, you should only hike the mountain in the spring, when most of the blizzards have ceased and before things get too melty, because you don't want to fall into a crevass.
They are just additions to a long list of really stupid people who think just because they are experienced climbers that they won't get into trouble.

it's the rescue volunteers that could end up the victims... anyone who considers themselves powerful enough to go against the forces of nature and climb a mountain should be left to their own to come back down.

I think they're missing...my goodness, they took the roughest trail plus neither of them were THAT experienced. I'm sure they'd done a little but...
They had no business taking the trail they chose but I hope they find them. Wouldn't it be a wonderful Christmas miracle if they found them...alive!
