Supply and demand. It is a warmer winter season so far, so not as much home heating oil is being used. Since this comes from crude oil (and gasoline comes from crude oil), this causes the price of crude oil to remain the same, or maybe even drop in some areas. And since over 50% of the price of gas at the pump is from crude oil prices, gas prices remain the same (or go down). In my area, they have stayed basically the same, maybe down a couple cents.
It will be interesting to see what happens since now OPEC wants to cut production to raise prices. They are having less and less impact on oil prices, so this latest measure may have little effect.

i am not sure where you live but in pennsylvania it is 2.40 a gallon the lowest i have seen this week is 2.27/gall.
and by the way i dont think gas prices have much to do with how or what the pres is doing, they are controlled by opec.
it sounds like you are saying this or implying this in your question, gas prices are down so republicans must be doing something right. we are in a war with a country that posed no threat, but since gas prices are down those repubs are certainly doing good.
my question to you is what r u trying to say? yeah gas prices might be down but that has nothing to do with liberals or conservatives.

Gas prices did start going up nationally the day after the election. You can deny it all you want but it's still true.

It's increasing slowly but surely where I live...and we haven't had anything under $2 gallon in YEARS. Oh how I wish our gov. would invest in finding new technologies like other countries have. Do you know Brazil is almost 100% ethanol? It took about 30 years to implement the plan, but they are no longer reliant on foreign oil. They also are enjoying .80/gal prices, and cleaner air. Lucky them.

Hmmmm.
Their prophesies were false again? That can't be. They have a zero percentage point of being right on anything. How can one party stay skunked for so long.
Time to switch parties boys. Then you can be right some of the time.

The Saudis are masters of staying in public favor.
There have been numerous films made of OPEC meetings. These men are very conscious of staying in public favor. Last summer they pushed the envelope. Now they are backing off.

OPEC has stated that due to the falling price of the dollar, the price per barrell of oil will have to increase. I agree, this has nothing to do with the elections...but it DOES have to do with the state of our economy
