My sister is 17 a junior in highschool, a cheerleader and has recently moved in with your 20 yr old boyfriend. What do you get someone like that for christmas? She's changed drastically from a regular teenage girl into going to the mall and hanging out with friends, into a "married" high school girl. I don't know if I should get her something teenish, or more adult

Haha, I didn't notice that I had put "your 20 yr old boyfriend" I meant, her 20 yr old boyfriend. I am inbetween getting her a cute teen gift or a cute nightgown, but don't want the family to think I'm treating her too grown up. I'm only 6 years older than her and so I guess I'm responding better to the living situation. Also, I've heard she's got everything for the house. Also, don't know if I should get them a "couples" present or just a solo present for her.... HELP!

I think she's given you all the answers to your question in her recent activity. She is "acting" more adult and she is trying out her independence. Buy her something she can use in her new adult life. Stuff for the apartment, stuff she needs now that she is out "on her own". Get her something like that and treat her as an adult and I'm sure it'll be a happy Christmas for you both. Good sisters make good friends!
Good Luck!

I would buy her a bill organizer. At 17 and 20 they probably still don't understand the concept of bills and saving. If you have a good grasp on money I would gift her your time, show her how to set up her bills, and help her find some short cuts (even payments, not being late on a payment and have to pay late fee.) She will appreciate it later on. Plus she will know she has you for support. Good luck to you and your family. God bless.

That would be a difficult choice to make. Ask her what she would want for Christmas. Have her make a list of things she would like to buy, and get something off that list. She doesn't even have to know if you got it from the list or not.

Something simple yet thoughtful and appropriate for any 17 yr female. She will change again, but not back to how you knew her. That was then, this is now, cherish the memories, and try to have fun yourself.

If she moved in with "my" 20 year old boyfriend I would probably get her nothing, however, in this case, since it is not my 20 year old boyfriend I would get her something more adult, like underware.

Do they need stuff for the house? I would say go more adult, she's made decisions that put her in an adult position, she should be treated accordingly.

Give her a gift certificate to a clothing store, so she can pick clothes out for herself. Or, alternatively, see if they need something for the house, and buy that for her.

Get her something teenish to remind her of the life she should be living.

I would go in-between....try getting her a new outfit or a gift card.
