The medical field has programs that take two years to complete that are in a somewhat stable job. The best resource would be to contact your local community college. Some programs to consider are dental hygienist, x-ray tech, radiologist, some physical therapy programs, phlebotomy. If you are not interested in the medical field, you may want to explore accounting. But like I said, contact your local community college. I personally feel they are more able to prepare people for the job market. Universities take four years to get a degree that generally does nothing for the individual except put them into major debt. Remember the 'A' students work for the 'D' students who own the company. Don't put a lot of stock in school. Mainly be able to show future employers that you can adapt quickly.

Everything here should take less than 2 years some less than 1 year.

Certified Nurses Assistant (CNA)
Pharmacy Technician
Computer Hardware Support or Help Desk
Customer Service Representative
Any Kind of Sales.
Police Officer
Firefighter

Check of Technical Schools not Colleges.

Good Luck on your career change.

Well you could do what just about everyone out there does, nursing.

Or if you like to type medical transcriptionists make a good amount of money also.

I am personally studying criminal justice. For the fact that it opens up just about every career path out there.

Business would also be a good degree even if you just get an associates..

Legal secretary - quick course. Or there's always phone sex operator for the stay-at-home job. No experience necessary - just a dirty mouth required.
