Gateway comp with too much stuff on it-I'm told it's goin south-we tried a flash drive to get all our music backed up-but it ainta-workin(I'm comp.illiterate!)Any sugg.?

First I suggest you become English literate.
1. Who told you your computer was failing and why?
2. What is your gateway model?
To get the data off you can do a few things:
1. Continue attempts to use a USB flash drive
2. When you purchase a new computer connect the former drive up as a secondary master
3. Take the computer to a service store and ask them to backup your data to a CD or DVD.

u prolly need usb2.0 ,,, and if ur pc is supposed to have it an doesnt then thats somthing u need to find out ..most pcs' newer than 3 years old will have it ...
