influencing someone is done by pure actions like if i see you and your dressed like a gangster and I'm thinking oh.. he looks cool i think i'll dress like a gangster too..
now manipulation is a matter of twisting things around to make them seem that of which they are not. For example I dress gothic and you dress gangster..and you tell me.. Oh.. you should wear your pants hanging half off your behind so that you fit in with everyone else.. and I'm like I dont want to.. and your like You look like a DORK. so im like OKAY.. let me wear my pants off my behind.
lol.
im bored.

Yes, it can be, but it depends on the desired outcome in the mind of the person doing the influencing. Manipulation of another individual is often regarded as devious or selfish on the part of the manipulator (or the person doing the influencing). Hence, the line between the two is a matter of intention.

Well, first compare the 2 definitions.
Influence: 3 a : the act or power of producing an effect without apparent exertion of force or direct exercise of command b : corrupt interference with authority for personal gain
4 : the power or capacity of causing an effect in indirect or intangible ways : SWAY
Manipulate: 2 a : to manage or utilize skillfully b : to control or play upon by artful, unfair, or insidious means especially to one's own advantage 3 : to change by artful or unfair means so as to serve one's purpose
So it could go either way here--influence just means getting people to do what you want (nothing inherently wrong w/ that, right?), manipulation implies influencing by deceitful means.

Influence is very different from manipulation. Influencing someone is giving them direction but allowing them to make their own decisions. Manipulating someone is making them do something with little decision from them, or controlling them for your own goals or purposes.

Not necessarily. If you mispresent the truth that could be manipulating them. Influencing is healthy. Manipulating can often be the sign of a mentall ill person.

No, but it does depends on the circumstance. Influencing could be teaching someone, but manipulating is learning to control someone by their responses.

It depends on how you "influence" others. If you use any of the hundreds of logical fallacies... it's manipulation.
check out the link below it lists some of the methods of manipulation

no, when you influence someone, its more like giving advice. manipulating is telling them things, or acting a certain way to make them do something you want them to do.

Generally, influencing someone is done subconsciously, or unknowingly, and manipulating someone is done consciously or purposefully to take advantage of them.
