It should be in and around 28 days, but there are lots of things that make it irregular. You should talk to your doctor about it.

I don't know why, for sure. I just started in August and they've been VERY irregular, and the same thing's going on w/ me! It could be that you just started, and it's still irregular, I'd talk to your mother, I'm doing that tonight w/ mine. Also it could be because of birth control pills, they like to mess w/ your periods. Third, it could be from change in diet, wieght, or daily activities. If you think you've messed around with things like this, than just put it aside, if your period doesn't calm down in a month or two, see the doctor, or talk to a trusted adult (if you're a child). Last, it could be something else, possibly an STD messing w/ it, ect. Just check w/ your doctor if the first and third are not true, they can help.

A "normal" menstrual cycle can range from 24-35 days, with the "average" falling at about the 28th day. This means that out of the MILLIONS of women having their periods, most fall into the 28 day range. However, if your cycle has always been every 2 weeks, this is normal for YOU.

You can go on BC and get it regulated to a "normal" cycle (I did this because I did have 15 day cycles and it was AWFUL). Go to a gynecologist and get a full physical exam including blood work done and make sure everything is fine otherwise and then discuss your cyclic concerns. Good luck.

I'm a nurse. If you just started your period then this is normal. If not are you on any birth control pills? If so it could be a side effect. Or there could be something else going on. See a doctor.
