WHOA!!! I think someone forgot to take his medication! MEN do not succeed at almost everything, I know many failures. I on the other hand have perfect grades, own my own house, my own car, work hard for what I have, and have had all of these things by the time I was 20. Most guys I know lived at home still by the time they were 20. I think your ideas are flawwed somewhere or you have a misunderstanding of the term "succeed".

Society has been shaped in a way that caters to the apparent success of men. Psychologically women are actually better prepared than men to engage in many tasks
They have better working memory, better colour vision, etc etc.
I'm no feminist (since im a guy) and men can do other things better in general than women.. for example we are more often physically strong.
But thats not the point, both sexes have their good attributes. However, again, society is constructed in a way that places emphasis on 'successful men'.
In short, men succeed at almost everything because western culture is geared towards forming and appreciating MALE success
P.S. I dont agree with the way society runs, just pointing out the way it is

the question is rather silly, men seem to succeed at almost everything because, traditionnaly, women have not been allowed to fulfill their potential, education is a fairly new thing for women, cooking, looking after the kids, cleaning.... that was and still is in some measure, our lot.
we have never had the financial freedom nor backing than men have enjoyed; in other words, if the deck is stacked all the way in your favour, of course, you will succeed.

Because what you are defining as "almost everything" is the very stuff that males tend to succeed at, for whatever reason. And your definition of "success" is that which males most often do. These definitions are so conventional and saturating that you almost cannot see how they contain value judgments, but they do. Women's "success" and the things they do are devalued to the point that you do not even notice it anymore. Examine your value system.

Flawed question. There are many instances in which women succeed and their successes don't "merit" acknowledgement in today's culture. And those women who have succeeded (in whatever sense you mean by 'succeed') are largely ignored by history.
I know as a male I fail miserably whenever I have to be an empathic person. That is only one thing. I can think of hundreds of others.

Cause men have controlled things for so long and brain-washed men and women into believing that women are inferior.
Your argument is refuted by the numerous successful women in wide-ranging fields who have done better than many men in their fields.

We don't moan and groan about things as much as women. We do not make an excuse every time something goes wrong.
Oh don't worry about Martini talking about your grammar. He used the wrong to, it should have been too. But he knew that being the grammar expert that he is.
