The natural sound of your voice is determined by the shape of your face and mouth and the length of your vocal chords. Some people have a natural gravelly sound to their voice. If you do not, in order to get that sound you will have to do many things that are bad for your vocal chords. These can lead to nodules on the vocal chords, and for some people, to the losing of their voice (both speaking and singing) completely.

I would encourage you to instead fully develop the potential of your own natural voice and find your own style and niche.
