If you are listening to a song on the radio, you can try calling the radio and ask "what song were you just playing" or you can try visiting the web site for the radio station that usually has a "now playing" section with a list of titles and authors.

The easiest way to find out the song title and author is to remember at least one line of the song really clearly, and then go to google, type in that line, and then put the world lyrics after it, such as for the song Mary Had A Little Lamb, say you only remembered the words "It followed her to school one day which was against the rule" type that and then the word lyrics into Google and hit search. It will generally come back with a list of song names and authors that fit your search.

If you are looking for a song that's be redone by different artists over and over and over again, you may have a difficult time finding the exact artist that you are looking for. When in doubt, post the lyrics you remember on Yahoo answers, a music web site message board, or like I said, call the station and ask.

Go to Google.com and in the search bar, type in the word lyrics then follow it with some other words or a phrase from the song. That will pop up a lot of lyric matches (since there's a lot of lyric databases on the internet). You should see a bunch of songs that match your lyrics.
