i have a large water garden with 5 fancy fantails. ive just noticed some agression in the pond. just wondering why and what makes them bully each other around? i have 1 female and 4 males and 1 shubunkin. the aggression i have noticed is some tail nipping. this makes me worry about introducing my huge fancy to them in the spring.

they are not being aggressive, they are courting and trying to spawn! spawning can get very rough your weather has them confused and they think it's spring you need to add 2 more females to this mix to take some of the pressure of the single girl

Move the aggressive fish to a seperate location for 24 hours. The change in location causes him to lose dominance. After the 24 hour period you can reintroduce him to the pond.

My first guess would be that the males are trying to show each other who's boss. You might have a sexy female fishy. =]
