2.write an expression for this, seven divided by the sum of x and 5

3. solve for y... 14.2y-12.5=6.4y-13.7

4. solve... -(-80)|-7|

5. solve for x... 5x+14-2x=9-(4x+2)

6. What is 57000/160 rounded to the nearest hundred

a) sub 6.4y from both sides
14.2y-6.4y - 12.5 = -13.7
b)combine like terms
7.8y - 12.5 = -13.7
c) add 12.5 to both sides
7.8y = -13.7+ 12.5
d) combine like terms again
7.8y = -1.2
e) divide both sides by 7.8
y= (-1.2)/(7.8)
f) ans: y = -.153846

4) -(-80)*abs(-7) sorry couldn't type straight lines around the -7
what this means is: the negative of negative 80 times the absolute valule of -7. the answer is 80*7= 560
